Alchemizing Scientific Discoveries into Impactful Ventures
Science doesn't translate itself into solutions. Having built several ventures from concept to market, I've learned that the gap between scientific innovation and real-world impact often comes down to early strategic decisions and hands-on execution.
Through Ruhland Ventures, I work with a small, carefully selected group of early-stage founders in preventative health and wellness. This isn't a traditional investment fund - it's a personal vehicle for supporting ventures where I believe I can make a meaningful difference beyond capital.
My approach is hands-on and highly selective. I look for founders with deep domain expertise who are tackling meaningful problems in health technology, personalized medicine, or scientific innovation. When I commit to a project, I'm there in the trenches - helping shape MVP development, refine go-to-market strategies, and build the operational frameworks needed for success.
What interests me most isn't the perfect pitch or polished business plan - it's the founder's understanding of their domain and their openness to building something meaningful together. Through my own journey of building science-based companies, I've developed practical insights into what it takes to turn complex innovations into viable products. From navigating regulatory landscapes to building technical teams, from early customer acquisition to scientific validation - these are challenges I've faced firsthand.
I focus on pre-seed and seed stage opportunities where strategic guidance can be as valuable as capital. If you're working on something at the intersection of science and human health, and you're looking for a partner who understands both the scientific and business challenges ahead, let's start a conversation.
Note: Due to the hands-on nature of my involvement, I only take on a limited number of projects each year.
